If you are in love with the look of rugs in the kitchen, here are 5 reasons you should choose a kilim for yours:
Revamp a kitchen for way less than changing counters, cabinets or appliances. Kilims offer an affordable option for a hand-made rug that pack a lot of punch into any space.
Kilims are lightweight, so you can lift and shake out crumbs between each vacuuming. They’re also made of natural fibers, which can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water.
Most flatweaves look the same on the front and the back. To hide a stain, flip the rug over. Kilims with embroidery or a goat hair foundation are the exception, because they have a more raw finish on one side.
The vibrant colors and patterns typical of most kilims masterfully hide crumbs and spills until you have the time for a thorough cleaning.
Standing as you wash dishes or prep food is a little more comfortable with a kilim underfoot - especially with a rug pad beneath it.
