The squeals of delight from my two-year old daughter at the sight of anything pink might have sprouted my interest in the color. I once thought it too soft and girly for me but have seen its sophistication shine when paired with a bright red, orange or even electric blue. Here's a round up of my favorite rugs with a bit of blush.
In these vintage Kilim runners, it's the pink that stands out against a brown field with mustard yellow and burnt orange accents:
Pink plays nicely with sky blue, saffron, red, orange, custard and charcoal in the hexagonal patterned goat hair kilim -- creating opportunity to tie together a rainbow of accents in an unexpected way.
I've always been drawn to tomato reds paired with bright blues, but the pinkish accents in this Caucasus rug really make the geometric floral details pop.
